Hello, my name is Aaron. I’m 16 years old. I love to help and I like to keep my body moving. I was born in Cameroon, in 2008 my family and I came to America. I like it over here, there are a lot of good people and there are opportunities to help you succeed in life. I go to McKinley High school where I take classes in horticulture so I know some things about plants. One more thing, my future goal is to go into the Marines.
My name is Ryan & this is my second year at Urban Roots. My favorite part of gardening is being able to grow your own food. I am also passionate about gardening to benefit our native wildlife.
I am returning to Urban Roots after four years away. I am an avid vegetable grower, gardener and love roses. This season I’m excited to help people create beautiful gardens in their yard, patios or window sills.

Hi! I am Bridget and I love Urban Roots! I have been volunteering/working at Urban Roots since the beginning of the co-op. Our Westside garden co-op has grown up! We offer so much more than we used to. I am particularly fond of ferns and love talking about houseplants. I have lots of shade in my small Buffalo garden and like to help people learn about shade-loving perennials. (Annuals too, of course!) Can’t wait for the new season. See you in the yard…
This is my second season at Urban Roots and I’m so excited to get my hands back into the soil. I tend a garden in the same space where my own grandmother grew her victory garden over 75 years ago! I love growing heirloom vegetables and would love to help you pick out some great ones for your kitchen garden. I also have a growing collection of houseplants that is taking over my home. If you need help selecting the right houseplant, I’m your gal. Come find me, and together we will find a plant that is just right for your space.
My name is Kevin. I’m here to help you and make you feel more comfortable with what you are getting. I’m looking forward to helping everyone this year so don’t be afraid to approach us with any questions.
My name is Angel and I am originally from the Congo/DRC where I was an engineer in Forestry. Taking care of the environment and nature is very important to me. We must take care of our planet now for generations to come. This is my second year working at Urban Roots. I really enjoy working here because the people are amazing and motivate me.
