Maureen Chapman

Living in Buffalo, Maureen enjoys tending to her garden, planting the many native species offered by Urban Roots. Not everything she plants grows as well as liked or planned, and her garden has transformed many times over the years.

Maureen has had the benefit of knowing Buffalo by working for several local women-owned small businesses and volunteering for many organizations like City Honors PTSCO, the Elmwood Av Festival of the Arts, a local Girl Scout Troop, and helping Stitch Buffalo in their early years. She enjoys discovering new places in Buffalo, has a passion for volunteer work, and a curiosity to solve problems that affect our community. Even if it is as small as picking up trash from the sidewalk while walking her dog, she sees the value in taking care of where she lives, and believes business cooperatives like Urban Roots have the same philosophy.
