JD Hartman

JD Hartman finds magic in the yard of Urban Roots, one of his favorite places in Buffalo. He also enjoys spending time at Our Outer Harbor, especially by kayak.

He views Urban Roots as the anchor commercial tenant of the Five Points business district, all while maintaining its identity as a community-owned and community-minded organization.

JD is a Financial Advisor with Equitable Advisors focusing on sustainable responsible investing. He provides forward-thinking financial strategies in line with client values. JD has worked in the financial industry for nearly forty years – much of this time was spent in New York City as the Senior Managing Director of the Wall Street investment bank Lebenthal & Co. In addition to his business responsibilities, JD is a community leader with subject matter expertise in cooperatively owned businesses. He is past-Chair of the Lexington Food Coop, and he is an active member of the Western New York Sustainable Business Roundtable.
